▪️Mattea Freeman was born and raised in Vermont and was always active in what people called “tomboy” activities. But to her, it was just what she found fun.
▫️She discovered rally racing in 2015, after she moved to Florida. She joined a stage rally racing team where she would do little things to help out such as : scrape off window tint, chip off sound deadening material and use her tiny hands to reach pesky bolts to tighten.
▪️Later that year, she raced at her first rallycross in her daily driver, a 2001 Subaru Impreza. She quickly realized that being able to fix your own car was a must! She learned how to do all the repairs on her own and with the help of her teammates.
▫️Since she started racing, she has co-driven in three NASA (National Auto Sport Association) Sanctioned Stage Rallies (Sandblast Rally). She drove in two NASA Sanctioned Stage Rallies, in her own car. She co-drove in one ARA (American Rally Association) Sanctioned Stage Rally Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally or STPR for short.
▪️Aside from her racing career, Mattea was also a parts advisor at a Subaru Dealership in Orlando! In 2016 she was promoted to assistant manager and left in 2019. She now works as a parts advisor at an amazing Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Dealership in Orlando, and also as a Subaru Mechanic at her boyfriends shop called Higher Ground. She hopes to do that full time someday soon.
▫️Mattea says “Racing and working on cars has become my life 100% and I couldn’t be happier. I have met some incredible people in this field!!”
